"Island at War" is a five-part saga set in the Channel Islands, the only part of Britain occupied by the Nazis during World War II. Overrun with Germans, the islanders resist or collaborate, depending on the strength of their moral fiber. The bad guys can be good and the good guys can be bad. Characters with layers include the British deputy leader (James Wilby) and the German commander (Philip Glenister). In Week 5, the plots fuse in a thrilling, if pat, finale.
