The Good Old Boys (Sun., TNT)—This easygoing epitaph for the Old West (set in 1906 Texas) marks Tommy Lee Jones' directorial debut, and Jones proves to be an actor's director. Smart strategy, since he gets to direct himself in a nifty role: an amiable old cowboy who knows that times are passing him by but who won't let it bother him too much. As for the story, it just moseys along, not going anyplace very fast but making telling little points along the way.
