The life of Christ is reconstructed in an expanded edition that tells His story through Gospel readings and comments from scholars. The study proceeds chronologically, devoting segments to Christ's birth in Nazareth; young adulthood, when He probably worked as a stonemason (not a carpenter); and baptism by John the Baptist—a "life-changing epiphany," says narrator Jack Perkins, "when the young Galilean first discovered His special relationship with God." The concluding segments recall Christ's preachings in "the religious and political tinderbox" of Jerusalem; and the dramatic events of the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. (2:00)
