It attempts so in a drama (based on Liddy's autobiography) that's dominated by Robert Conrad's portrayal of the man as fiercely competitive, iron-willed, and intensely devoted to his family—and to his work, first with the FBI and then, in the Nixon Administration, through his participation in the Watergate break-in and cover-up. That affair is recalled in vignettes centering on Liddy's well-publicized confrontations with John Dean, John Mitchell and Jeb Magruder.
