C. Thomas Howell
Debut: Vampires roam
the streets of San Fran-
cisco in this latest out-
ing from the ubiquitous
Aaron Spelling. These bloodsuckers, however, don't
sleep in coffins or speak with Transylvanian accents.
"I got rid of the old, tired, boring vampire mythology,"
says series creator John Leekley. "All that gothic,
Victorian stuff is gone." Here, the undead live among
humans and morph into wolves instead of bats—and
their adventures are not for the squeamish.
Mark Frankel (Fortune Hunter) plays Julian Luna,
the godfather-like ruler of the city's five vampire
clans; and C. Thomas Howell ("Soul Man") is Luna's
human nemesis, Det. Frank Khanek. In the opener,
Khanek's love affair with Luna's ex (Kate Vernon)
threatens to expose the vampires. Lilith: Stacy
Haiduk. Sonny: Erik King. Daedalus: Jeff Kober.
Cash: Channon Roe. Archon: Patrick Bauchau.
