Cast members from the 1989-91 series return in
the second TV-movie sequel, which explores the
themes of Government secrecy and ethnic purity.
A murder investigation leads LAPD detectives
Francisco and Sikes to an acclaimed Newcomer
scientist (Pamela Gordon), whose secret re-
search suggests the possibility of interspecies
breeding. The resulting furor further complicates
the budding romance between Cathy (Terri
Treas) and Sikes (Gary Graham)—who learns
the painful lesson that courting a Newcomer
takes more than "a little sour milk and some mu-

THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK
Although the title of the movie is The
Witches of Eastwick, this is Jack Nichol-
son's movie all the way. From the time he
appears on the screen, Nicholson de-
mands attention with the most outrageous
characterization of his career. When Nich-
olson appears as a demonic satyr in the
New England town of Eastwick, he is
seemingly the answer to the prayers of
three divorced women friends, an artist
(her), a music teacher (Susan Sarandon),
and a working mother (Michelle Pfeiffer).
But after each moves into the fantastic
estate of the man whose name no one can
remember, they begin to discover that
their new-found powers and playful prac-
tice of the occult arts have not-so-playful
