    (1993, New Line, PG) The fearsome amphibs are transported back to 17th-century Japan, and they actually appear more at home among the samurai than in the sewers. While the overdone dude-speak and flying kicks come at the usual furious pace, the sequel also manages a couple of warm moments, which almost make up for the new surroundings' lack of pizza. B-

The movie might have made a star of Brandon Lee, but it became instead his tragic legacy: Lee, 28, was killed during filming by a bullet from a pistol that should have held blanks. Ironically, his father, martial-arts legend Bruce Lee, had also died suddenly while making a movie 20 years earlier. The Crow, based on an underground comic book, is about a rock musician who comes back from the dead to seek revenge for his and his fiancée's murders. It's violent and pulpy, but horror fans will like the dark, menacing mood, nonstop action, and striking visual style.
