wrapping up his summary of one
episode's events by saying, "This is
Ben Franklin, and that's the way it
is on June 16, 1775."
"I shrank back for a moment when
they suggested that," Cronkite admits
about the reference to his famous sign-
off. But he trusted the show. "I'm
very enthusiastic. This is teaching
our kids what the country is about."
