Special: A silver anniversary celebration—Bob Hope's
25th year on television.
The occasion is marked with a two-hour burst
of memories—a showing of kinescopes and clips
from Bob's past TV shows.
Highlights... Bob and Dinah Shore sing "Baby,
It's Cold Outside" in a shot from Bob's first show
(1950); Maurice Chevalier sings "Louise" (54)
Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour join Bob in a dance
number (56). Frank Sinatra sings "The Lady is a
Tramp" (57). Bob and Steve McQueen play Japanese
soldiers in a comedy sketch (60). Bing Crosby
closes a boxing match between Bob and Rocky Mar-
ciano (61). John Wayne plays a Western style legend
in "All in the West" (71); legend Bergman and Bob
share Oscar moments (72), and Bob and Jackie
Gleason appear as policemen in Central Park (74)
Other clips feature Jack Benny, Heidi Foss, the
original cast of "I Love Lucy" (Lucille Ball, Desi
Arnez, Vivian Vance and William Frawley), James
Garner, Jimmy Durante, Edie Cantor, Rex Harrison,

Special: Crooning, clowning and sporting at
Lake Tahoe, Nev. Against the spectacular backdrop of the
mountain resort, Perry Como is the host for
a variety hour that features Bob Hope, Anne
Murray and six champion women athletes:
Billie Jean King, golfer Sandra Palmer, skier
Suzy Chaffee, a hang gliding expert and two
skateboard artists.
Out-of-door highlights find Billie Jean and
Perry dressed in turn-of-the-century cos-
tumes for a tennis match; slow-motion
photography complements the old-fashioned
look. And Bob is up to par in a comic golf se-
quence with Sandra.
Indoors, Perry, Bob and Anne entertain
with jokes and songs. The musical numbers
include "Templeton" and "Something
(Perry), "Danny's Song" and "Everything Old
Is New Again" (Anne), and a medley of old fa-
vorites (Perry, Anne) (60 min.)

Special: The road to Montreal.
Bob Hope and Bing Crosby headline
this variety show, a benefit for the U.S.
and Canada Olympic teams that is being
filmed at the Forum in Montreal.
According to producer Bob Wootton,
the program will include scenes of this
summer's Olympic site and shots from
past games, and music and comedy
from Hope, Crosby and other performers,
who are scheduled to get things under
way with a melodrama that puts Crosby
in the role of a detective.
Shirley Jones is also slated to be
on "and singing has touched her
heart with the songs on Flip
and with Hope Open it Easy That's Love
Adding to the Olympic flavor of the show
are Jesse Owens recalls the work of
the 1936 German Games (90 min.)

Special: Bob Hope stars in a mystery that is proven
for laughs.
Hope arrives home to a house packed
with guests he wasn't expecting. More unexpectedly,
the main start is missing, one by one.
Bob enters the hall of TV greats Miss Cannon,
Dorothy Lamour, Kate Jackson, Dyan Cannon,
Jesse Owens, Abe Vigoda to investigate the disappear-
ances, which are apparently the work of a mys-
terious "funny" shark.
Scheduled guests include Don Adams, Jack
Gilbertson, Steve Allen, Rod Serling, Mel Brooks,
Foster Brooks, Les Brown, George Burns, Red Buttons,
Pat Buttram, Sid Caesar, Sammy Cahn, Gwen Camp-
bell, Jack Carter, Cheech & Chong, Jerry Colonna, Scatman
Crothers, Bill Dana, Phyllis Diller, James Farent, George

HOPE'S WORLD OF COMEDY
Special: Highlights from 26 years of Hope
shows.
At dress time producer Jack Wootin Jr.
(That's Entertainment!) was editing
some 200 hours of footage—compiling
performances by 180 stars and running
the gamut from classics to bits to
songs and dance.
There is no telling which segments
would be included in the two-hour show,
but Wootin did compile three a sound of
Hope's "Road" movies from his long TV
show. A 1950 telecast featuring Frank
Sinatra and Bing Lane a talent called
"This Is Your Life." Lorne and a
hospital sketch with David Niven.
"I'm glad to share the memories as Luc-
erne Ball, Don Rickles, producer Norman
Lear and director Neal Simon.
The show is scheduled to conclude
with a tribute to great comedians (2 hrs.)

Special: Echoes of the distant 20th
century vaudeville's heyday with
guests Lucille Ball, the Captain & Tennille,
