1919-20 -- Fox Movietone started it all on October 11 of 1919. The saga of General
Pershing reviewing our Rainbow Division in Remagen, Germany brought ecstatic
Americans to their feet.

3. LOWELL THOMAS REMEMBERS 1921 AND 1943
1921 -- Newswires of 1921 picture Ku Klux Klansmen in white hoods and shown,
with the outward intention of keeping AMERICA "pure".
General Pershing followed Harding on the golf course, country and countries,
while his cabinet ran the country.
1943 -- In the United States, President Roosevelt stated firmly that the Axis pow-
ers "had asked for it, and were going to get it". Waves of B-17 bombers attacked Ger-
many. Germany's invasion of Russia was meeting insurmountable resistance. Close

1922 -- Carey Island and New York, Americans became ecstatic. Fox Studios Con-
vention attended by Tom Mix, will Roarck, Douglas Fairbanks & Mary Pickford.
1944 -- MacArthur made good his promise. Allied naval forces were destroying
the German navy. The Allied army commanded by Patton launched an attack to lib-

1923 -- The dominators are in full control, however Thomas reconstructed Harry
Ives Carlu, Earthshakes in Japan, marching cannons for re-election.
1945 -- Historians called this the biggest year in history, World II ground on as the
Allies forced the decisive Nazi battle at the Battle of the Bulge. The Big Three --
FDR, Churchill, Stalin, convened at Yalta. The end draws near as Hitler commits sui-

A Ku Klux Klan parade in our nation's capital, 60,000 headed, sheriff's menmen
marched, representing 6,000,000 members.
Brown vs. Georgia in the "Negro Train". The Charleston, Boxing Contests Babe
Ruth, Fred Grange, Van Houtenburg, Congress!
1947 -- America's dilemma was focused on the communist threat. The world grew
greater in 30 years occurred in Centralia, Illinois.
Congress and was investigating alleged imperfections of Howard Hughes. Presi-
dent Truman addressed Congress requesting aid for Greece.

8. LOWELL THOMAS REMEMBERS 1926 AND 1948
1926 -- The date was 1970, America's 150th anniversary. Re-enactment of historic-
cal events were recorded by newsreel cameras.
In Philadelphia, a point tour with trade exhibitions from every part of the world
drew over six million people to Florida, the land boom. Jack Dempsey and Gene
Tunney stopped it out.
1948 -- Globally-wid legend Rudolph Valentino died at age 31 and public mourning
transcended anything ever witnessed.
1948 -- Great hero Harry Truman frustated Tom Dewey. The State of Israel was
established. The Allies outlawed the Nazis! Berlin Blockade!
Four great men die: Mahatma Gandhi; Czechoslovakian leader Jan Masaryk's
Bobbe Ruth, and Charles Evans Hughes, Chief Justice of the United States. Commu-

1927 -- The big story of 1927, perhaps of the decade -- and still America's special
legend -- was the Lindy Eagle's flight from Curtis Field, Long Island to Le Bourget.
Two other major stories of 1927 that divided Americans on the domestic front: the
attempt to enforce Prohibition, and the Sacco-Vanzetti Case.

1928 -- The new idol of the skies was Amelia Earhart, 31 years old and already a
seven year flying veteran. And 1928 was an election year. A shot-in for Republican
candidate Herbert Hoover.
The Netherlands was host to the north Olympics!
1951 -- Brink's in Boston is robbed! Senator McCarthy's committee on Un-Ameri-
can Activities. President Truman made frequent appearances. The Korean war.

1929 -- Black Tuesday, October 29th, 1929 was the day of the stock market crash.
A welcome visitor to the U.S. with the durable Great Depression. Mary Pickford and
Charles and Anne Lindbergh publicized a record breaking 48 hour transcontinental
flight.
Women made their way in 1929. Carrie Chapman was an early advocate of wo-
men's rights and France Brice was the president of the Zeeland Falls Lions.
1951 -- MacArthur was relieved of his command in the Far East. Excerpts from old
soldier letters are included. Communist findings in Kansas and Missouri.

1952 -- The presidential election. Eisenhower and Nixon.
