Babylon 5 is a five-mile-long space station that serves as an intergalactic UN. Lingo: It's called Babylon 5 because the first three stations were destroyed and the fourth just disappeared off the map. Wrist-computers are called Links. The shuttle in the ship's core is the Tube. The newspaper is called Universe Today. Good guys: Commander Jeffrey Sinclair (Michael O'Hare) is assisted by Lt. Laurel Takashima (Tamlyn Tomita), security chief Michael Garibaldi (Jerry Doyle), and Dr. Benjamin Kyle (Johnny Sekka). Bad guys: Ambassador G'Kar (Andreas Katsulas) is angry about colonial insults to his people. The real villain, though, is a shape-shifting hit man who infiltrates B5. The twists of recent weeks pale in comparison to revelations about B5's first commander, Jeffrey Sinclair (Michael O'Hare), who returns for this outing and helps find an ace in the hole in the Shadows conflict. But, Straczynski says, the episode, like the series, isn't just about the war. "It's about the people who live in this place...and the dawn of the third age of mankind."
