Debut: Montel Williams stars in this predictable drama as a crusading science teacher at an inner-city high school full of kids who could easily be guests on his talk show. Scarred by the gang-related death of his brother, Matt Waters (Williams) returns to his alma mater after a 20-year career as a Naval officer. Waters is determined to make a difference in the lives of his students, and, in the opener, he counsels a girl who quits school after her illiteracy is revealed. "We all have to earn our dreams," he tells her. "All you need is a good reading class." Sam McMurray and Kristen Wilson costar as hard-bitten teaching veterans who help Waters bring his lofty ideals down to Earth. (1:00)
