3028. GLENN CLOSE:
FATAL ATTRACTION. (1987)
Glenn Close and Michael Douglas ignite this
1987 megahit about a married lawyer's fatal af-
fair with an editor who is single, seductive and
psychotic.
Douglas plays Dan Gallagher, a successful
Manhattan attorney who is happily married—until
his job brings him into contact with an alluring
publishing executive named Alex Forrest (Close).
Neither one makes a secret of their immediate
attraction to one another. And when his wife,
Beth (Anne Archer), leaves the city for a country
weekend with her parents, Dan spends the night
with Alex.
But what Dan takes for a casual, if passionate,
fling becomes a romantic obsession for Alex.
And when he attempts to make a clean break
with her, she begins phoning him at all hours and
pursuing extraordinary means to threaten both
him and his loved ones.
The film won six Oscar nominations, including
Best Picture. Director (Adrian Lyne). Actress
Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Anne Archer
(Close). Supporting Actress (Archer). Screenplay
Adaptation and Editing. (2 hrs. 30 min.)
