Five volume, 10 hour documentary
produced by the Koreans themselves.
The Korean Broadcast System has
produced this most complete video
record of the Korean War ever made.
1. THE DIVISION & NORTH AND SOUTH.
At the close of WW II , both the
U.S. and Soviet forces came too
Korea as liberators. Troops met at
the 38th Parallel as they had on the
Elbe. But, a Korean independence
was against the interest of either
party, hence demarcation. In the
North, Kim Il-song, communist takes
power. South elects Syngman Rhee.
2. THE OMENS OF WAR & TEMPEST.
By 1949 the Russians explode an
Atomic bomb. Mao Tse-tung comunizes
the Chinese continent. June 25, 1950,
North Korea launches surprise attack.
3. TO THE NORTH & A DIFFERENT WAR.
Sept. 1950 Gen. MacArthur lands troops
at Inchon and by October is at the
Yalu River and the end of the War
appears imminent. Then China enters
the War & the tide turns. On April 11,
1951 the world is stunned as Gen
MacArthur is dismissed. The War had
returned to it's starting point.
4. STALEMATE OF TRUCE:
Waves of Chinese troops VS Superior
fire power shows both sides that a
victory is impossible. Truce talks
drag on for two years. Prisoner
exchange becomes a huge issue. (many
of the North prisoners didn't want to
be repatriated.)

4. WAR ON THE HOMEFRONT:
The suffering Korean people.
5. TRUCE & EPILOGUE
Eisenhower elected president and
visits Korea. Stalin dies and the
Soviets & Chinese adopt a positive
attitude toward a truce. July 7, 1953
the armistice is signed and a
demilitarized zone returns things to
their pre-war status. No victor nor
vanquished, but over 4 million lives
were lost. Korea remains the only
Country in the world yet to be
unified and is almost the only Cold
war situation left on face of the Earth.
